"Living in the City" - 6th Sao Paulo Biennial of Architecture and Design
October 8 - December 11 2005
I think that architecture should be modern, that means
it should meet the challenge of fostering the equivalence between the interior
and the exterior and the dialectical relation which binds form and function.
Being modern also means to adhere to the
"emotional values" which define the image of modernity and constitute
its essential features: lightness, openness, transparency, fluidity,
abstraction and picturality.
Satisfying needs
breeds construction
Satisfying
demands creates architecture
I am concerned by the will to transform, to foster the
evolution of the physical space of social practice (my little utopia) and to
make architecture as a way of freeing volumes from gravity and working on
transparency, framing, bridging and creating tensions. We intend to use
virtuality as the best way of aggregating matter in order to create public spaces
that are clearly constituted but are not enclosed.
To propose abstract, painterly, plastic language as
protection from narrative or symbolic deviances.
